Come see us at ESC Silicon Vallery, Booth 1284 where we will be showing our new Marvell MV78200 and Freescale MPC8536 CSB17xx SOM's. The first in a new family of High End Network oriented SOM's. In addition we'll be showing our latest CSB7xx module for the SAM9G45 and SAM9M10.

So come on over and meet our engineers, pick their brains, learn new stuff!

Windows CE

Windows CE provides a 32-bit native hard real-time, small footprint operating system, unified kernel, and familiar embedded development tools. This makes CE the right choice for a variety of smaller footprint devices—ranging from power conscious GPS handhelds to real-time, mission critical industrial controllers.

With Platform Builder as a plug-in for Visual Studio 2005, device developers can build both application and CE 6.0 operating system software in a familiar environment. Here are just a few of the many ways CE 6.0 helps streamline the development process:

  • Coding Flexibility
Choose to code natively (higher performance, smaller footprint) or write managed code (faster, portable to other platforms) by choosing your preferred Microsoft development technology—Win32, MFC, or the .NET Compact Framework (C#, VB).
  • Access to Source Code
Access to CE 6.0 shared source helps you debug, test, and make changes to an OS image. It also allows you to make modifications and create differentiated features while helping to maintain control over your intellectual property—no need to share your code.
  • Easier Configuration and Testing
The new ARM-based device emulator included with Platform Builder for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 helps make it easier to configure, build, and test operating system images.
  • Faster Editing
CE 6.0 editors now incorporate IntelliSenseâ technology, syntax highlighting, and graphical bib and registry file editors.
  • Improved Compilers
Based on Visual Studio 2005, the latest compilers increase C++ language conformance; provide better libraries; support CRT, ATL, and MFC; and offer improved runtime security check features (/GS).
  • Production Quality Drivers
In addition to shared source, CE 6.0 includes a broad selection of production-quality device drivers that help decrease the amount of modification needed for drivers to work with custom hardware.
  • Native Windows Applications
CE 6.0 supports many commonly requested applications, including Windows Internet Explorer and Microsoft Windows Media Player.

Adeneo America

Adeneo is collaborating with Cogent for the development and support of Windows Embedded CE board support packages for CSB7xx modules. Adeneo edits, distributes and supports the Board Support Package for the CSB737 platform, based on Atmel AT91SAM9263 chip.

Free binary evaluation versions of Adeneo BSPs are available here

Adeneo also provides engineering services such as consulting, training or turnkey developments around Cogent products to help OEMs in the integration of CSB7xx modules in their custom designs, such as:

  • Adaptation of reference BSPs to custom designs
  • Design of custom carrier boards for CSB7xx modules
  • Development of specific additional drivers
  • Complete HW+SW integration and designs around CSB7xx modules

SchemaBSP Tool

Cogent uses the SchemaBSP tool from BSquare to develop, build and deploy Windows CE 5 and 6 BSP's on our CSB7xx XScale based SOM's. To find out more about SchemaBSP Tool click here.
